We are offering two-day experimental filmmaking workshops for 16 - 25 year old who live in West Cumbria.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to make their own experimental films with the support of experienced artist film makers.

 

Workshops will include;

 

  • Shooting film using 16mm Bolex cameras.

  • Working directly with film i.e.  contact printing, film surface destruction and screen printing.

  • Hand processing 16mm film and experimental developing and tinting and toning (including ecological processes such as caffenol developers and natural plant dyes)

  • An introduction to making and collecting sound (an introduction to sound using contact mics, hydrophones and coil pickups, as well as scratching 16mm film).

 

The films created on the workshops will be shown at a public screening, as part of the final event, on September 1st.

 

Each workshop is two-days long and will take place at Hayton Castle Fields on:

 

Workshop A: 26th - 27th August (10am - 5.00pm) (Saturday and Sunday)

There are 8 places available on each workshop and they are free for 16 to 25 year olds living in Allerdale and Copeland area.


Allerdale and Copeland area transport provided: We are fortunate to be able to provide transportation in the form of a mini-bus, free for young people living in Allerdale and Copeland area’s. Please email Julia at: allerdalefilmfarm@gmail.com to book a place on the bus.
